How to put loose fiberglass into wall?

Hi all,
I am remodelling the kitchen in my 1930 balloon-frame bungalow, and I want to insulate the outside walls. What is available to blow fiberglass into the wall cavity? I’m not prepared to have professional come in and to the whole house – I just want to do rooms as I find other reasons to paint the walls.
I have an old Kirby vaccuum cleaner with an exposed impeller. I suppose I could put the hose on the exhaust end, feed that into the wall at the top, then feed handfulls of glass into the impeller, pulling out the hose bit by bit until the cavity is full.
I am hoping that a coat of BIN will suffice as a vapor barrier.
Thanks,
Scott

Well, you actually should just rent an insulation blower, as the feed bin alone will save you grief beyond measure.
Also, go with cellulose instead of FG. If you are doing this from the inside, you'll never ever not ever get all those itchy fibers entire out of the house (it'll drift into dust, or hide in toe kicks waiting for future dusting or sweeping).
It's also a real good idea to get all the other mechanicals in (electric, telco, coax/a/v, plumbing, etc.) before insulating. Generally. (and if you don't, it's soooooo much nicer burrowing through dense-pack cellulose than f/g . . . )
