I am building a very air tight ICF (Insulated Concrete Form) house and would like to install a HRV. Will be heating with radiant floor heat so there will be no duct work for a forced air furance to run the HRV through. Do I just piece together metal ducts/flex ducts/or is it possible to use schedule 20 PVC? What size would be correct? Any recommendations on where to look for information on the topic? Thanks

Thanks for you comments Fred. I was thinking about putting a blower door on after construction. I did get John Bower's book, but it was a bit over my head. Maybe I'll have to go back and re-read it. Have you ever seen anyone use PVC for duct work? Saw the article in FHB where it showed PVC being used to duct a bathroom fan. Wondering if anyone has used it to duct multi-baths plumbed back to a HRV?

I would not consider having all the fresh air in my house travel through pvc pipe and pick up whatever it is off gassing, but I live with an enviromentally sensitive person who is affected by minute amounts of plastic smells.
