“I don’t need any stinking sheetrock”

oops | Posted in General Discussion on March 18, 2009 10:43am

Noticed an article on the CNN Webb page about imported Chinese stinking/smelly sheetrock in Florida and Alabama. Anyone having similar problems around the country. Article states that the out gassing is even corroding electronic components.

If you fo to JLC there is an article.

It appears that it is limited to Florida and possibly Mississippi.  Large demand after Katrina etc. made drywall impossible to get, so they imported.  There appears to be some major problems!

this was about the time the gysum plant caught fire. we had contractor sending flat beds up to 1000 miles away to buy drywall, you could not get any, not at all for about six months.

It all ties in.  It appears that the Chinese company is dening any responsibility, at least so far.

There was a discussion here a couple months ago about it.
