I was just reading all the tool posts and had that thought. Tools are great.
I had a dream once that I had a tool store. It had my woodshop in the back behind glass. All the tools in the store could be tried out before purchase. Just go in back, plug in and build away. Test each nail gun and sawzall. Use in pine, oak, steel, whatever.
It was a cool dream.

Yeah, it would be a cool store, too.
Bet you would have lots of free help from the tool nuts here at BT.

That would be great. Then everybody could come in, trash your tools, then go buy theirs from Amazon.
You'd probably be bankrupt in 6 months.
Don't steal. The government hates competition

In a perfect world with a tool store like that, people would be responsible for their own mistakes.
...that's not a mistake, it's rustic

AMEN
I love tools too.
I have a tool a day habit, but I can quit any time.
I loved Junior's Tools in Orange County. They had it all. I could kick the tires there and then check the web. As another poster noted, that is the way to Chapter 11. Orco bought up Juniors. They have far less of a selection.

Nice guys at Orco.

Hi. My name is Nick, and I'm a toolaholic. There, wow, that feel great. Time to feed the addiction.
If they had a place it would be called 'Husband Sitters R Us'
Just like Toys R Us our wives would bring us to the store and dump us so we could play and trash all the toys.
They could charge an hourly rate that was reduced if we bought the tool we were playing with.
They could play Norm videos overhead and soft music using handsaws and other tools.
They'd have work benches to take naps on. If we're regulars they could have, hanging up for us when we come to play, our name on our very own work apron.
Ah...what a world...if only...
aaaahhhhh I can see it now. And maybe Pizza and Beer at lunch timeMen do not quit playing because they grow old; they grow old because they quit playing! Holmes Sr. Oliver Wendell
