and Grace is her name.
How so much time could pass by before I met her I’ll never know.
Had heard about her now and then thru the grapevine but it wasn’t until that first date that it all clicked and I’ll never be the same again.
Even with her wrinkles she’s mighty fine. Bound to be that lifelong partner.
One thing I can’t figure out tho’.
The instructions in the marriage manual say nothing about the variance in widths of the exposed exterior adhesive line found on each side of the roll.
One side measures 1/8″ and the other side a tad under 3/8″ .
So I got to wondering if perhaps it were not just a manufacturing glitch and if there is a distinct purpose in those two widths, one supposedly being intended over the other for the up or down slope of the roof?
Anyone know?
Thanks

rez,
Don't walk all over her especially if she's wet.. I used a ton of it and it's not the solution.. won't stop leaks completely, especially Ice dams
stay away from her on hot days! she's got a nick name for those days.
the "one foot" markers aren't one foot either!
What might be her nickname?
yeah, what were those marks for anyhow? Something like 13 5/8s inches apart if I recall correctly.
Got to thinking maybe some type lapover markings?

dunno but i wasted a bunch assuming those were one foot marks.
BTW, her sister VICOR is too skinny and cannot be handled by an amatuer even on cool days. she is no substitute for any task, except maybe to train the new guy.
nickname....bitchathane...

Wait until she ties you up on a hot day.
YOur love fest will turn into hate at that point.
How does that happen?

If you and your new girl decide to get it on when the temps are hot-she'll wrap around you like a boa constrictor.
When the temps are cool she can act like a lady.
p.s. don't worry about the difference in exposed sealant-do like Sphere suggests and knife them off.
"Do as Sphere suggests...."
Wow...I was joking, and I got something right? LOL

I usually leave it on,but at times, esp. with a partial roll thats been in the truck awhile,it makes unrolling simpler to trmove it.
Where are the barrel dormer pics?
Right here,

You must of posted those while I was in the hospital.
Looks nice!
My approach would have been to pull and re-lay the slates-more labor but easier to solder the uppermost lapped seams.
It almost looks like Maine slate from the picture-doesn't look like enough mica to be Buckingham. What variety would you guys call it?
If we started pulling and relaying, we'd be there till XMAS.
This job wasn't suposed to go into doing this phase, basically we went out to re-slope the gutters that were hung by a hack, and solder his joints..then the undergrounds were found to be plugged solid. I think a tennis ball, but the H/O hired a snake camera after 2 drain augers just stopped cold, and the camera showed just black...LOL This guy is a trip. Can't get anything on his precious lawn of crabgrass. Etc.
Anyway, we were to inspect and RandR bad slate, we did. We inspected and found that the dormer skins had been slobbered w/ tar...bad news...that and erosion from the slate wash off, and rubbing expansion/contraction of the Cu, caused the skin to fail...that and some had blown off, from the cleat Overhang/wrap and crimp areas, had almost no wrap to crimp to the cleat, and no drip edge either.
So Grant gave him some #'s and here were are, falling behind on other work, and had a TON of rain.
The slate is way soft, and nasty...many, many split ones. But we are likely the hundredth guys up there..some one been chasing leaks for a LONG time.
The place needs a tear off, and standing seam IMO.
Sorry Rez, I thought we would be fast about this hijack.

oh, you mean like the times she dare touch herself in public. Embarrass me to no end.
Was all I could do to just pull her away and the best you end up with is a few cuss words as she crinkled her nose up.

Now, I think I know what they mean by "peel and stick."
I didn't realize love was involved.
Actually I'm surprised they don't also produce it in longer rolls.
It'd be pretty sweet to have, say a 10ft width, and be able to start it at the ridge and let it roll down. The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.
You like them big tall ones.....
amazons rock!
heh heh Always did want to date a girl taller than me.
be wondering why that is?be time to use a dating service and specify over 6 ft. but forget the 10ft wide part.

I'll let the words of Mr. Berlin speak for themselves...
How much do I love you,
I'll tell you no lie,
how deep is the ocean,
how high is the sky?
How many times a day
do I think of you?---
How many roses
are sprinkled with dew?
How far would I travel
to be where you are?
How far is the journey
from here to a star?
And if i ever lost you,
how much would I cry?
How deep is the ocean,
how high is the sky?
How much do I love you,I'll tell you no lie, #15 felt in comparison dies
