there is a 40″ staircase at a right angle on the outer wall going to the second floor with a 16′ ceiling. Depends on who’s in the shower.
funny u mentioned that the back bath was literally a clawfoot tub with 5 windows and dimmable lights on the second floor where every other house going up the hill back yard looks down at. I havn't used it in 9 years after I was painting the window panes without a shirt and the neighbor put up a 10' privacy fence. That bath got demolished last year and is a very well lit walk in closet now. I didn't mind my daughter using it but if they act like this to me, screw them all.
if the house is real old, then the window is probably for ventilation from the days before fans and small motors
