I am looking at laying ceramic tile in my new bathroom. This will be with 12×12 tiles. There will also be a shower built with 6×6 tiles. I have read a few FHB articles on laying and cutting tile, using all the right tools, and preparing.
What I would love to have is a high quality book and/or video that describes how to build a shower pan correctly and lay tile for a shower. This is one thing that is not covered enough. Or can some experienced tile setters here give me some help? I need help from start to finish (from wood framing to grout sealing).

There's a great forum on ceramic tile, with a collection of links to Micheal Byrne's article on shower tile, the Taunton video on cutting curves, cbus, framing, etc. As for reference materials, Taunton Press has published MB's book on tiling, and John Bridge has a great book, too.
Are the same Cami that post over on the John Bridge forum just curious..? Darkworksite4: When the job is to small for everyone else, Its just about right for me"

You and Fish shouldn't be so shy. I'm proof that John will let just about anyone through the door. Just ignore all promises of coffee mugs and t-shirts...

Besides Byrne's book, also be sure to go to http://www.tileusa.com and pick up the latest copy of the Tile Council of America's Handbook for Ceramic Tile Installation. This handbook provides installation details for a variety of different applications. Also be sure to order the related ANSI A108 standards booklet. These are the latest specifications for ceramic tile installation. Both are invaluable resources, although I recommend reading a book first, as they're a bit technical for a beginner.

Byrnes's book is the best by far IMHO but its very technical and you really need to study it. I also think he has a video that you can find through FH. Your bathroom must be quite large to use 12x12 tiles......MAybe something like mine..Mine is about 15' by 18'......I used 12 x 12 taiwan green marble.....Anything I can help you with give me a shout any time.you can even Email me if you want (see my website below the post with my email address.
Be well

I bought 240 12x12 tiles to do the floor.
Yeah, it's large, but here in Northeast Alabama we take luxuries when we can get'em.
I'll probably have a few questions for ya later. Thanks for the help.
