I’m looking for opinions on the best way to install a floor on a slab. It’s a 23 x 11 space i’m converting to an office, laundry room and bathroom . My idea is to paint the concrete with DRYLOK waterproofing paint, 30 lb. felt paper, 6 mil. vapor barrier, 2×4 sleepers 24 o.c. with rigid foam between, & 5/8 t&g plywood. The heat ducts are in the ceiling. The slab does stay dry, through 2 Chicago winters, and the whole house was built on the same slab. By the way,at the risk of asking a stupid question, what is Homasote and would it help with insulating the floor ?
THANKS in advance ! JEFF BLACK dba QUALITY FIRST MAINT.
