I have a three car concrete block garage with truss roof/ceiling construction. The ceiling is sheetrocked with fiberglass batt insulation in the attic space. I want to insulate the walls in the garage without all the studding and subsequent drywall hanging. I have been told there are panels that have a foam insulation core with drywall faces, that can be glued to the block walls with construction adhesive. What are these panels called, brand name or whatever? Your advice would be appreciated. Thank you, Stevepaz

Steve,
I dont know if this is something that can be done on an already completed building. The building that my business was last located in before we moved to our present location was block construction but the blocks were filled with a light, granular insulation. One person told me it was vermiculite. If you drilled even a small hole in the block, you had to be careful because the stuff would come running out ! I dont know if you can pour it in from above in a completed wall, or if it is done in sections as the wall is being constructed.
That building was one of the most energy efficient I think I have ever seen as far as a comercial building goes. It was close to 3000 sq ft and the gas bills very not much more than those at my house.
