Insulating bath fan penetration through rim joist

I have just had a bath fan exhaust pipe installed through the rim joist in my basement. The pipe was insulated with foil faced insulation, from the fan all the way through the exterior wall. I’d like to air seal around the pipe as I can feel air pouring in. Should I pull back the foil insulation to just inside the wall, and insulate around the rigid pipe, or should I leave it as is and spray foam around the foil faced stuff. I’m leaning towards the former, but thought I’d ask before doing so.
Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks, Tyler
