Hey guys,
I do mostly all small remodeling jobs, but as we all know, run quite a number of cords and splitters for power. Problem is I end up plugging portable GFIs (California OSHA requirement) into the homeowners outlets, and needless to say I end up with a mess of extension cords all over! I’ve been tempted to buy one of those cool jobsite electrical distribution boxes, but they seem to be designed to tie to a 240v/50amp jobsite power pole! I was thinking making a pigtail to just grab the homeowners range or dryer outlet to power the distribution box, but maybe I am getting too fancy?? Anyone doing something similar?
Thanks!

Spider boxes are great for reducing cord mess.
But a lot of dryer plugs are connected to a 30 amp breaker, too many guys pluged into the spider box & you will be tripping that breaker quite often.
We like to tie right into the panel, most of the panels I have seen have room to add breakers------ we install a 50 amp breaker & run an 8-4 SO cord to the spider box.
Then when were done we take the breaker with us.

I made a variation on the spider box. Its a 6x6 pvc box with 3 outlets in it runs on 120 volts 30 amps off our gen. Slick.
