Depends on a lot of factors you haven’t told us. You’re new, so we won’t shoot you this time 🙂 You’ll get better answers if you give lots of details, including where you live (that affects snow and wind loads). You’ll also find that a lot of the experienced hands will not answer, or will say that you should consult a local architect or engineer, because there’s so much about each specific job that can’t be seen on the web; and they’re right. Thanks for the quick answer. I live in Arizona.......snow? What's that? We haven't even seen rain for 6 months! The joists would span 12', 16" on center. By your reply, 2"x10" doug fir would be plenty.
Oh I forgot to mention, we will be putting an exercise room above with a lap pool and a full size wrestling ring, me and the missus are the FIRST husband and wife WWF tag team champions(future) the little woman dresses out at about 375# and I'm on the lean side of 500#. We both can bench press 400# .
Almost forgot I also run a used auto part biz out of my house and need a place to store my transmission collection.
