i like real wood just as much as the next guy but i have to admit pergo has its place. when trimming out my buddies newley enclosed porch i lost my balance on a step ladder and dropped a finish nailer and it did not leave a mark in the floor that only had a dropcloth on it.i was impressed, but i didnt run out and put it in my house. besides it not that much cheaper than common oak by the time you buy the glue, underlalment, clamps etc.

Thanks, guys for all the good advise. Tell you the truth I didn't expect the response. Here in NY it's every man for himself as a rule.
Anybody think that Pergo is crap? I took a good look at the material up close and have decided to try and talk my customer out of it...Just looked like someones idea of a good way to bilk homeowners out of their money by manufacturing a cheap alternative to the genuine article which looks a great deal better and if cared for is quite durable. Looks like basement wall paneling to me...
Anyway, keep the good words coming as they are appreciated more than you know.
