I am building extensive decks around my home in southeast alaska (rain forest). I have tried cedar oils but they do not last, wash out in a short period of time. Has anyone been able to keep red cedar looking bright and clean in a heavy rain environment?

They omited the word cedar after red, it looks as if my question is about paint. Not what I am looking for.
Is "they" a pet name you have for yourself ?;o)"They" didn't omit anything. You left it out when you typed the title.

My experience has been that, no matter what wood you used, and no matter what treatment you use, you'll need to use the treatment at least once a year.
If you're looking for anything that lasts longer, good luck.
