I built our house ten years ago and have had to replace the kitchen sink strainer/drain assemblies two or three times. They leak, break or the copper shows though. They weren’t junk, they cost $30-$40 each. I’m willing to pay for something that works. Any recommendations?

We've had good luck with Wolverine Brass deep dish basket drain assemblys
Thank you, but whatever I buy, I want see in person and nobody seems to carry Wolverine here in Nashville.
Plumb,
After 32 yrs I finally replaced our strainer due to a slow leak around the threads. It was called a Spin and Grin, from Briggs. Screw in a cpl turns to stop draining. Worked great at keeping sink filled.
And, how will places like Roberts Western World and the rest of Broadway deal with these new Covid suggestions?
Thanks and good luck.
Yes, I like spin-n-grins, if I can find one that doesn't break or lose its' finish.
Good for you...years ago, there was a person on here who's sole response to everyone was to go hire an engineer. It wasn't helpful advice 90% of the time and it reeked of someone who lived their life in CYA mode.
Do you have the same problem with tub / shower, or lavatory drains? Is your water supply public or private, well or reservoir? What kind of dish soap do you use?
City water, no mineral deposits, tub/shower/lavatories are fine. I just seem to have a talent for picking lousy kitchen sink drains.

Usually drain assemblies corrode due to poor drainage. there must be standing water in the drain, other than in the trap. A horizontal/ elbow run perhaps? I think it's an install issue rather than materials.
Can you post a pic of the existing drain assembly?

Here's a recommendation!
"It's not a good idea to build a house if you don't know what you're doing.
You might have more problems than just this!
Hire a good carpenter or contractor to go over your house and make sure it's safe and meets code."
AKA these are your own words on a reply you wrote to another person that asked a question. This forum isnt to BULLY someone or make them feel less....who are you!
There are so many these days that do their own work so why not be helpful instead of being a jerk!
Good for you...I wanted to tell him he had no idea what he was doing and he needed to hire a competent plumber.
Plumdaddy,
Yes, I should have been more helpful. I was just as harsh with another person and I have apologized to both of them.
Don't come across many people who have this special ability to apologize and close the dispute. Keep it up, mate.
