Anyone know how to do this? All the stucco I have done has been a sand finish. Now I see nothing but skip troweled stucco here in southern Colorado. Wish I could catch a stucco crew doing the texture so I could watch.
Can anyone here try to explain how it is done?

Heck, I'll bump this to see what happens. I have used the dryvit products, but I don't know the term for the application.
I've watched them do it - but didn't pay that much attention, because it looks so simple when they're doing it. Seems like they trowel a flat color coat, then follow immeditately with a light touch trowel, "skipping" the mud, not unlike the method for drywall skip-trowel. Sometimes they call it "spanish lace" out here. A rose by any other name...

I know what you mean about they make it look easy. I think you have described it as I myself understand it. That doesn't mean I could actually do it, however. I think I will try to find a crew working tomorrow. Now, if only my spanish wasn't so rusty...If you come to a fork in the road,You can eat your lunch.
