Cheapest labor, vinyl. Wood is next, most expensive is FC. Wood or FC labor would be affected by exposure, more exposure = less labor $$. FC with a 8 1/4" exposure would be less expensive for labor than, say, 8'' beveled cedar. But not by much, wood and FC are pretty close.
Easiest? Wood. Cause I hate vinyl, and hate cutting FC.
Assuming the installation is pretty straightforward.
I agree for the most part.... I'd just add that cedar shingle siding would be even more expensive than FC.View Image
As they said, and FC shingles are much more than any of it.
One of the factors to add expense to FC is, at least in my area, there are not many that do it, so the ones that do have price control. Vs wood, FC is heavier and dusty if you don't have the shears.
Of course, the wood may require more coats of paint, etc, and if the wood is "wild" it may consume time to sort through and select pieces appropriate for the situation.
