I am installing a custom laminate countertop with a oak edge threatment. Is it best to put the edge on after applying the formica or formica over the edge treatment? Both ways have advantages and disadvantages. Putting the formica over the top of the edge seems better for cleaning but the edge of the formica is exposed. Any help is appreciated.

Kevin,
Some of counters I have seen with the nice wood edge have swelled (the particle board pushed the formica top up at the edge) near sink/diswasher....water from one or the other...I sealed the bottom in thuis area... with poly several coats...
If any counter builders know of a better solution let me know.
