OK I bought some cheap laminate flooring, kronotex, I have an old house and the floors are not level. The room I am installing it in is pretty level but to get the joints to click together perfectly the board I am installing and the boards that it is going into have to be perfectly level. After they are joined the unleveled floor is not an issue. Any suggestions on getting the flooring level temporarily as I go along until the boards are joined then remove. I was shimming floor that is down then removing shims after each board is installed but this is taking a long time. Leveling the floor is not a option.
thanks

Are you putting the pad down under that laminate?
Get some real dry sand and screed that flat in all the nooks and crannies across the floor (an area ahead of you as you go) before you run that row of pad. Lay out the pad real nice and easy. You now will have a pretty good supported "flat" floor as level isn't necessary but flat is required.

I use the "silent floor underlay" which looks like recycled felt & is about 3/16" thick.
we find the laminate goes in better and easier using two people had to lay a bit to learn that.
