I want to put in some of the new laminate flooring material in my kitchen. The type I am looking at is a “snap” together and doesn’t require glue. The instructions indicate that 100% silicone caulk should be used around the perimeter to keep water from getting under the floor. My concern is, should I actually glue the pieces together to prevent any spills seeping through the cracks of the floor. Any recommendations? Any help is appreciated. Thanks. Mac

Depending on the type, pergo etc.. the perimeter sealant is all you need, and around fixtures that have a tendency to leak (toilets, exterior doorways, sliding glass doors). Some systems recommend gluing the upper part of the tounge in high moisture content areas. Most snap together systems have a 30 min time frame before standing water will absorb through a seam.
