I would like to install the gluless laminate
wood floor, but I was told that the traditional laminate flooring (with glue in
the seams) offers a better resistance and overall feel of the floor when walking
on it. Is there any truth to that?

Just finished a Formica Brand laminate floor for a client and glue is essential. First, laminate floors are floating floors and act as a single monolithic unit. Not only does the glue create that monolith, it is a waterproof glue which protects the MDF substrate and makes the entire floor suitable for kitchens and bathrooms.
The whole monolith slips under an edge moulding which allows for some movement.
Under the floor is a double layer of plastic with styrofoam balls in between. This serves as a vapor barrier for the floor, deadens sound and gives the floor a slightly softer surface on which to walk.
Without the glue, you are really asking for problems.
