I haven’t done one of these in about a year, and here are the problems I am running into:
1. The Oil Based Contact Cement I was used to was replaced with a Water Based Product. The stuff takes forever to dry, and is not nearly as tacky, even with several coats and ample drying. I can pull apart the sheet from the substrate after “J” Rolling it fairly easy. Is there a decent contact cement that you guys use? Jeez I’d love the old fashioned smelly stuff that got tacky in about 5 minutes.
2. The humity here may be contributing to the lack of tackiness, but I can’t be sure.
I will start my third try on this stupid remodel later this week, and may upgrade them to tile for no extra cost. I can’t afford another re-do on this laminate counter top. Thanks in advance.
