Largest hobbyist show maybe; the largest woodworking show in N.A is IWF, in Atlanta and Anaheim in alternating years.
*And speaking of woodworking Mr.Wilson how is that immaculate shop of yours and are you getting any time in it? Jealous in Carolina
*Just repeating what it says on their site.
*IWF definitely nails them on square footage."We’re optimistic that IWF 2002 will encompass 800,000 net square feet, up from the 706,007 net square feet we used in 2000,” commented John D. Bassett, III, IWF 2002 Chairman and President of Vaughan-Bassett Furniture Co"That's one BIG trade show!Dave
*Dave; the European shows are even bigger. Ligna (woodworking machinery, most everything up and running), in Hannover, ran somewhere around 1,561,000+ sq feet last year,114,000 visitors, and most people also go to Interzum (wood, hardware, laminates, etc.) in Cologne immediately preceding it.....over 1.8 million square feet. Over 1900 exhibitors at Ligna, almost 1800 at Interzum. Companies spend months setting up elaborate booths; the exhibiton halls are mindbending....there is no space in North America big enough to hold these shows, (and the food and car shows are supposed to be bigger). Billions of dollars of business done at these shows, the whole world meets there. I had the chance to go last year, spent eight days between the two shows. I want to get to the Atlanta IWF too, but it's always held the same year as Interzum/Ligna.Phill; I honestly wasn't picking at you, just at what I think is misleading advertising on the part of the show.
*Immaculate? Were you handrolling those see-gars with alternative materials? And no, not getting much time in there at all....flat out and then some at the college. (Thanks for the card, BTW; Ralph too).
