This topic has come up here many times and seems to get alot of talk, just go into advance search & you get 100 hits from the past. As for PLS lasers I own 3 of them, the PLS1 for distance measuring , the PLS2 gives a horz & vert line & the PLS5x gives 5 points, left-right-up-down & straight out. Which one do I like the most?
All of them, its like asking which of my four kids do I like most. Each one is differant and is good for differant uses. What are looking to use the laser for? Let us know & we are can give you more help.

I would use it mostly doing framing Obstacles are the things you see when you take your eyes from the goal!
I use the pls2 for basement framing, soffits, drop ceiling, plumb and level line work, kitchens, spot locating, straight line locating, pool table leveling, wainscot, chair rail, window / door heads, tile layout.............Remodeling Contractor just outside the Glass City.

In your first post you said PLS3 which only shoots 3 points, up-down & straight out. The PLS5 also shoots left & right, which are needed for lay out. PLS laser work best for indoor use which I do.
Give more info on your uses.

I got one of these in the summer: http://www.brianhyde.co.uk/stabila/NewLasers.htm
also got one of these to go with it: http://www.laserjamb.com/about.asp
I looked for about a year and very nearly got the pls2 but it doesn't project the line outside to be visible with the naked eye.
I haven't used the stabila that much but I set out the footings in 12 different places on my own in 20 mins a real bonus.
but I'm looking forward to using it more and more.
eventually I think I'll end up getting a pls2 as well but I need to persuade SWMBO

I've got the PLS2 & use it all the time, I promise if you get one, you will love it
What is SWMBO?

she who must be obeyed!!!!!!!!!
the only reason i didn't get the pls2 is because it doesn't work very well outside and most of my work is glass conservatories!

When it comes to buying tools I kinda go by BWSBS/ Boy Won't She Be Surprised!!!
Seeing you work outside your right, The PLS2 would'nt be a good fit.
What part of the world are you from and is there a big demand for conservatories?
PJE
i live in the uk. about 35 miles west of london.
but SWMBO is from just outside boston MA and we are going to be moving to the US in the next 12 months so she can be closer to her family.

some example my work:
Very very nice wish we had a few more high end things around here.Obstacles are the things you see when you take your eyes from the goal!
I think I'm going to buy a laser level. I'm a DIY'er working on my own house doing the finish work; tile, hanging cabinets, etc.
It looks like the PL2 is good enough for my needs? I've never used a laser level, so am not sure what I'm getting myself into, yet.
You will be happy with the PLS2

Thanks for the pictures. The "bradley' picture is my favorite, quite classy.
