LASER – PLS 180 – any feedback?
@@@@@
I am considering one of these, with detector, but before doing something rash, I’d like to hear from users.
Got one? How has it made your life better? What can you do with it?
Only review at Amazon suggested that it was a bit delicate. ??

I'm getting one tomorrow, actually buying 2.
$265 each delivered to site by Grabber.
New toy! Used one last week, great for framing soffits, transfering control lines etc.
Just like any tool though, only as good as the user. ; ^ )
The only problem I can think of is this one is so compact it may be easy to misplace.
Our company supplies me with a Hilti rotary and a Hilti "bob". Lots of guys have their own lasers, the most popular being the PLS 3. I have had a couple of Robo lasers but the light is not that strong.
I am not a big fan of the sensers, just don't trust their consistancy. I use them in a pinch, but like to see the line myself.

No detector, $380 sounds like a good price, I think the detector goes for around $200. I'll use mine indoors only for metal stud framing where we can always see the line.
Grabber is the piffin screw manufacturer and drywall supply house.

I have the PLS2E. I would strongly recommend you get the kit with the outdoor sensor. You will use it more often than you think.
The PL laser has been one of the best tool purchases I have ever made. It will save you a ton of time.
