Hey Fellas, I am working on a kitchen install and I created a recessed niche in the wall for the Tv to mount flush. I have about 3/8 clearance around Tv. Im wondering if I will be able to mount the tv becouse I won’t be abl;e to lift up on the tv to get it in. Does anyone have experience with this?
Thank you, Lou

Is this a flat panel?
What's above and below the kitchen? Did you box in the niche?
Try using a piece of Masonite almost as wide as your TV as a shelf/lever.
I'd devise some sort of a mounting system that you attach the TV to and then connect to the wall via some sort of hooks or locks or some such.
Or maybe hang the TV hinged from the top, with a piece of cloth belting at the bottom that can be used to pull it out. When not in use the belting is tucked in at the bottom. Fish it out with a piece of wire to pull the TV out.
Or the hinge idea, only with hook/loop fasteners instead. If the niche is that tight there shouldn't be any danger of it falling out if the fasteners slip a bit.
Maybe the trim around the niche should be removable to make install/removal easier.
I hope you accounted for the depth of a mount when you recessed it. That kind of thing, I would have the mount before I do the recess. There are some mounts that take up very little space and for an LCD, the weight isn't usually a big deal but ventilation may be. 3/8" is kinda light for that but the TV manufacturer usually will have a temperature/mounting clearance spec. Some mounts swing into position and make it easy to get the TV where it needs to be.
Do the cables insert horizontally, in the back or vertically, from the bottom edge?
Yes - I have experience.
Not only is 3/8" a lot less than the 1" that OEM recommends around TV but it will make it hard to lift up onto a mount (see Chief brackets - among the best).
