I want to learn to Stucco, it isn’t the most sought after skill up here, and those folks who do it charge a fortune, so I figure I’ll learn it and do my own work. Now everything I’ve read says that the way to learn is by watching, it sounds like pretty much a matter of finding someone and copying whatever they do, but I figure there must be some decent reading material around that gives a good feel for the skills needed.
As a litmus test I plan on doing my Garden shed in stucco at the end of the summer, and if it comes out looking like, well, a stuccoed garden shed, I figure I’ll move on to bigger things.
Anyone got any advice for reading materials or resources??

there are all sorts of new stucco types such as acrylic which uses a mesh wrap underneath (and is easier to apply then cement stuccos)....HAs an insulating quality as well..I'd look in the local phone book under stucco supplies and call to see if you can get written directins as weel as being steered to jobs that their customers have.
