We poured and stamped 8 yards of colored concrete two weeks ago and now there is white crystals on it. I think it is lime coming out. I have been told to wait for a mounth and seal it and it will go away. Is this true or is this a problem with the finishing or mixing at the batch plant.

That was my thought also - since we get so much of that here. Very alkali soil. Wonder if a plastic moisture barrier was put down under the pour. It still gets through, but usually takes about 12 years or so."he...never charged nothing for his preaching, and it was worth it, too" - Mark Twain
This pour was done on wet sand with out a vapor barrior. But what can I do to correct this? It has been 75 to 80 degrees this past week. Would this affect it?

I don't think you can ever completely stop it. You can clean it up, but it tends to come back. Anyway, do an advanced search here on "effloresscence", its been discussed before. You could try googling it, also. Its a result of the chemical makeup of the soil below the pour.

I guess it might be hard for you to tilt the slab up and slide a VB in under it noiw, so the best bet is to let it cure, then clean it with acid and rinse, dry, and epoxy it, then hope for the best. Somebody else might come up with another solutuion
