I am installing linoleum in a part of my renovated kitchen. The cabs will be carrying concrete countertops and I dont want to have to lift them when I replace the lino in 20 years. What are the cons about installing the linoleum up to the cab kicks?

if you can take the kicks off the cabinets then install the linoleum and put the kicks back after to hide the seems you may have to trim the kicks but when you replace the lino again you wont have to lift the cabinets
I did that in a bathroom with some Armstrong "Lineoleum" It was of course the modern day poly-butyl-pyra-whatever-dine. Butted it up to a tub and affixed the edge near the tub with Epoxy. 18 years and lots of kids abuse and she's still flat.
If the cabinets are not installed yet, install the linoleum all the way to the wall behind the base cabinets. This way if you have a flood there is less oppertunity for moisture to get underneth the linoleum. 20 years from now when the linoleum wears out you may not want more linoleum. And if you do, then you live with the comprimise of installation from then on, rather than for 20yrs and then on.

IMHO there arent any cons in normal conditions. Make sure to glue the lin down. Dont lay it dry. You can add 3/8" 1/4 rd against the kicks and over the lin to make life a lil' easier to install.
Have fun

Frankie's on it, leak detection, and it's sooo much easier than cutting linoleum around the cabinets. If/when you replace it, it's a very simple matter to trim the old flooring off at the cab bases, after you pull up that aforementioned shoe, of course...
Good luck, BB It's okay, I can fix it!
