Long-time lurker gloat

pdxhandyman | Posted in General Discussion on August 31, 2008 01:47am

My main project from last year is this month’s cover story in Old House Journal. Thank’s to all the Breaktimers who unwittingly and unknowingly assisted in the completion of this project.

    Congratulations!

Looks great - love the shower floor!

    Cool!

    But -

    Man, love that house!

If you don't mind me asking, what was the specific cause of the fire?

Homeowners had just finished remodeling the house themselves and then had to leave the country for business for a year. Renters left a cig burning on the back porch.

    The whole thing is sweet.

    Love that shower floor.

    Great work!

Very nice.  I love the TP holder in the downstairs bath.  In the kitchen picture, the lower cabinet on the far right ... the doors look odd.  Is it blotchy finish, or photo-faux pas?

Nice work and nice article. Are you the homeowner or the contractor?Steve

Lead carpenter for the design/build firm on that project, currently rehabbing an 1886 turreted Victorian on the other side of town.

Good eye, photos were actually taken two thirds of the way through the remodel just before a remodeled home tour. Cabinet doors were all pulled shortly after that, some were refinished, some were remade and refinished. A rush job at the shop on finishing millwork before the home show left us with some less than stellar results.

Good answer.  I didn't mean to find fault with the work, mostly just curious."Put your creed in your deed."   Emerson

    Beautiful!

Somebody contact the painter though and have them touch up the "holiday" under the window in the bath with the corner stool will ya.

    Detracts from the wonderful job.
