I have a recessed medicine cabinet but I want a much bigger one.
Does anyone make one with more than one recessed portion so it
fits between more than one pair of studs and requires no cutting of
studs. A series of cabinet compartments-each fitting between the
studs with one large face frame and multiple doors–so you could
have more than one door, but with a united appearance. Has anyone
seen one like that?

Hi Lisa
The easy fix is to buy two, a right door and a left door unit and install them so that they open outward.
You can tie them together with wood trim or ceramic tile borders.
Gabe
*Gabe,That's a great idea. If the stud space (14 1/2") is already centered on the sink, then she'll have to reframe to get two units centered on the sink. However, if she uses blank mirror over the center line of the sink and then adds the two recessed units either side of that in the existing stud spaces, then she gets more storage and more mirror. What do you think the chances are that she can do that without running into something in the stud spaces? My guess is there is something there (wiring, vent stack, etc.). It always seems to happen to us when we open the wall.Good luck Lisa,Ed. Williams
*<> made or makes the unit you're looking for..but it's been awhile since i installed one , so i don't know if they are still out there

Morning Ed,
As we both know, it's not a big deal to open the required section up and install a header and frame without disturbing the remainder of the wall. Thats why they invented the reciprication saw, isn't it?
You should be able to cover the cuts and screws with the finish trim afterwards.
Gabe
Hope you're busy Ed and making money.
*Hey Gabe,Gald to talk to you again. I could be wrong, but I thought she didn't want to have to remodel. I thought your idea was great and I may do that in our bathroom. I do own a sawzall.Anyway, business is great in Dallas. I've got so much money coming in I don't have time to spend it. I've got boxes of it in the attic and we had to make a path to the bathroom from the living room between all the dollar bills and coins. I can't open the garage door because of all the trash bags full of money. I hope that things slow down or I'm gonna have to move to a bigger house. ;-) Really, business is great here right now, but anyone who has been in this business long as we have knows that it doesn't last forever. I hope all is going well for you in the Great White North.Regards,Ed.
