I have a couple of places where the drwall tape on some inside corners is showing loose edges. Mesh tape maybe ten years on. Painted with sand-textured paint. Any good way to fix these without a tear-out and replacement? Thanks to all you pros.

If you can get a small putty knife in the "tear out", add some spackle behind the opening and spackle as you would normally but wipe away any excess with a moist sponge soas to not ruin the sanded paint look. This should work fine.
if it's just small areas.....I'd get a fresh utility knife blade and cut it back to solid ground. Don't go into the corner. Make football shaped cuts () and dig out the loose mesh/topping coat with the blade tip.
Fill and feather with spackle or durabond ....let dry......repaint. The tape /mesh in that area is to keep the corner from developing an open crack. A bit of surgery on the mesh tapes edges won't affect anything.
If it's a longer area.......cut out the offending stuff the whole way.....including the corner......retape......and remud with setting compound as mentioned above. Jeff
