Has anyone had any problems with the new waxless toilet seals? They have a thick rubber O-ring and a rubber flange that fits tight to the bottom of the toilet.
I installed them when I re-did my bath room (I prefer to try new stuff for myself before I put it into a clients house) So far I am very impressed, no mess is great, but even better is that you can remove the toilet and re set it with the same seal several times with no problem. It also accomadates tile and thick flooring easily. So far I say its a good thing. Time will tell.

I put one in in my previous house and hadn't had any problems by the time I sold it, 2 1/2 years later. I didn't caulk around the bottom of the toilet so I'd be able to catch any leaking (also checked it periodically from underneath, thanks to unfinished basement below). A great improvement on the wax ring method in my book, though I too wonder if anyone's had a problem with it.
Nothing new. The house I am in is 30 years old and when I replaced the original toilets last year, guess what? Rubber seals. Removing it was a snap and I put new wax seals in because I had them on hand and I didn't plan to pull those toilet out soon.

Love'em. Use them right in the right place and they are the very best way to go.
Been using them in commercial settings for a few years soo far no problems..
I'll tell ya I didn't even know that wax seals existed until 5 years ago when I went back to the states to visit my parents and had to replace one. Here (Italy) we've used rubber gaskets on toilets for at least 25 years. I thought the wax was absurd but ...OH I put it in as it was before.

Two leaked out of three and they sent me a key ring. I found out later some parts were missing from one of the kits.
