Lowes (Deckorators) vs Home Depot (DeckO
I am working on plans for a new Deck and looking at maybe using the metal balustrades. Lowes and other lumber yards have Deckorators.

I wanted to check on prices of the sq version, which I think are new. Lowes shows the connectors as being stocked next month, but don’t show the balusters.
So I checked at HD. A search said that Deckorators was misspelled and changed it. So I started drilling down and found that that sell a product called DeckOrail.

Looking at those 2 websites do you notice anything “interesting”? Besides the two different spellings and that they both have exactly the same dealer finder, that gives two different names.
But you can’t price match them.

Frequently HomeDesperate, and Lowers have nearly identical items, under different names. This is done so that you can't force them to price match each other.
They both used to sell multi piece cordless tool sets from the same manufacturer, (Dewalt), with different flashlights in them. The other 5, 6, or 7 tools were identical.
I remember when for they both switched suppliers on clamps about six years back. HomeDesperate quit stocking Bessey and went to Jorgensen, at the same time Lowers went to Bessey, and quit stocking Jorgensen. Both had the old suppliers parallel jaw clamps on sale for half off. I spent a weekend, and nearly $1000, buying up all they had left at every store in Vegas.
I loved it a while back when they changed suppliers, but both are getting so low end now that I don't really care anymore. Still some few good deals can be found.
