I’m looking siding alternatives for a garage sided originally with T1-11.  That turned out to just as temporary as I was afraid it would be.   15 years later, it’s time for repairs and maybe an upgrade.
Vinyl siding is a domestically-incorrect choice (wife hates vinyl and vinyl color choices) cedar and hardiboard are too expensive for a utility building.
I’m intrigued by LP Smartside lap siding.  My local lumber yard has is both primed and pre-painted, but not in the “right” color. The pre-primed version will at least that will give me a stable surface to paint a color of choice.
I know of many old OSB siding horror stories, but I’m wondering if the new product line is worth considering or is it just a new chapter in the old horror story.
