I went out to dinner last night (my 65th birthday-welcome to Medicare, lol) and noticed the deck above my head at the restaurant appeared to have an lvl as the main beams holding the decking. It looked well secured, thru bolted thru some at least 6×6 posts, but some of the wood on the lvl looked like it was starting to “curl”
I haven’t looked up anything from the lvl guidelines, so I figured I’d check here quickly
Can an lvl be left out and exposed to the weather? the restaurant is maybe 50 feet from the water (a bay off the ocean) so it’s not exactly a friendly environment for wood
just wondering
thanks in advance

There are "marine" LVL's available but your example doesn't sound like one
Thru bolts are not the way to hang them either.
