plumingsupply.com is great. Also try:
A-Ball (specialty/old fashioned)
Faucet outlet (conventional fixtures)
*Go to the bath boutique and collect up all of their brochures you can. Touch and try all of their fixtures as well. Spend about an hour there, but don't buy anything. Now go home. Of course, someone's going to be complaining about this yuppie who never bought anything, but they won't know that you were really gathering intelligence so that you can go to The Faucet Outlet's Internet site after getting home and order the fixture you liked at the bath boutique at 70% of list price, without sales tax. Now, don't, by any means, let it get out to either the bath boutique or a professional plumber that you're doing this. The dogs of war will be released, and you'll be branded as scum for taking food from babies' mouths and denying the plumbers their Constitutional right to a profit (Article V or VI, I forget). The bath boutique is in league with the plumber, so watch what you say and where you say it. Don't worry about getting caught at this on a weekend, however. The plumber will be at NAPA buying discount parts so he can fix his own car, and he won't see you at the bath boutique.Another source, by the way, is CyberBath at http://www.baths.com.

barry:
Not to unleash the dogs of war, but you've touched on the hot button issue of the millenium. Where will we go to "browse" the hardware that we'll buy on-line or via mail order when these establishments close down because they can't compete with the internet and mail order companies? I'm not berating you, just throwing grenades.

virtual reality -- you'll strap on some headgear and a glove, then go play with whatever you like.
*Fred,I'd bet the bath boutiques could survive if they sold their products at something less than list price to walk in customers. They don't because, as one sales VP told me, that would be unfair to plumbers.

Does anyone know of a good, high quality mail order place for plumbing fixtures?
Home Depot just has crap.
The Manufacturers Showroom place is so full of yuppies, I could scream. They take an hour looking at stuff, and never buy a thing.
I'm looking for high quality solid brass valves, shower mixers, faucets etc. Thanks in advance to all who respond.
