I’m building some valances to hide lighting for a large shadow box display that will run around the walls of a display room. The valance will be a 24″ drop from the ceiling and will be mounted to 2″ x 2″ strips attached to the ceiling. The Masonite is actually faced with a gloss white material on one side that reflects the light. It will face the walls and the opposite face of the sheet will be painted a dark color to give the shadow box effect. One of the challanges is to make certain that the valance is light proof. The building supply center has a vinyl strip material that fits over the mating edges of two sheets and forms a nice joint. It can be painted and will look good. But they don’t seem to have any other seam strips for things like right angle seams or finish edging for the bottom edge of the valance. Does anyone know of a source or brand name for vinyl edging that can do the job? Thanks RWB

The source should be the same. There's outside/inside corner and end(edge) cap. Should be several colors. Look to a better paneling/plywood supplier.
FRP panels have a line of slightly beefier trims.
Calvin,
Thanks for the suggestion. I wenbt back to my local building supply store today and found the missing trim pieces. Its a smaller shop, Budget Home Center, here in my home town and their ability to maintain inventory is not quite up to the same level as HD but the service is mych better.
