Picture a 2 story home. ON the facade of the first floor, I would like to use a darker stone ledgestone veneer like “Elderado Stone” or the Owens Cultured Stone veneer. ON the sides and 2nd floor I would like to use a lighter cream colored quarried natural chopped limestone. The 2nd floor limestone should be a little thicker than the cultured stone veneer and without special measures (that I have no idea of) it will protrude a few inches further than the veneer.
How does one handle the transitions so it will not look odd? How does one properly support the thicker stone on top? Any other special considerations?
Thank you in advance for your insight.

Furr out the first floor to compensate.

Thanks FastEddie, clearly the question displays my novice. Glad to hear its doable without too drastic of measures.
