I’m moving a wall out to take in an inset porch to increase the size of my living room. The porch has 2X6 floor joists which run perpindicular to the rest of the house’s floor joists. The problem is that the rest of the house’s floor joists are 2X8. How can I bring the level of my porch up to match the floor of my living room? Also, I’m in a humid climate (North Florida) so moisture problems could cause mold.
Thanks for any helpful suggestions!

Most porch floors have fall to the joists for water runoff. If the structure will take you're adding a wall and the foundation will hold it all up, you can cut sleepers to flatten out (level) the floor and then sheet to match up with the other living area. Start at and verify the height of the floor (the one your trying to match)at both ends of the opening-middle too so you have no surprises. Open the wall b/4 you cut the sleepers.
