In the past I have built several single wall, timber frame homes in Hawaii. In the past the exterior/interior wall material of choice has been 2 by 6 T&G redwood. It is attractive and highly insect and rot resistant. Given the ecological down side of continued use of redwood as a siding material I am searching for other materials or products suitable for single wall construction in a tropical environment. Any ideas?
