What model number(s) were the old style Milwaukee circular saws?
I’ve decided to expand my search to ebay … a model number would speed things up.
Looking for the old style … drop foot … model we all know and love.
don’t like the newer tilt-loc model.
Thanks,
Jeff

I checked my saw, see atached pic. cant find a no. because the lable fell off, I remember saving it....
but I have know idea where. My saw was bought at a farm auction back in 74, they said it was all of a year old at the time. I do remember having a very low serial no. and it is a 13 amp.
Checked ebay, heres a link to one.

That's the one I'm the high bidder on at the moment ....
hope I'm buying the right thing!
did a little more research before I cracked the internet wallet ...
looks to be what I'm looking for. if and when I get it ... the DeWalt will go to the service center for a tune up and then go back into the case to serve it's intended purpose .... "finish circular saw".
I was sold on the old Mil's back in trade school ... they had a coupla that were about 5 years old ... beat to hell ... still worked great. If they can survive 5 years of idiot student carps ... it'll last a lifetime riding around in my van.

That eBay saw doesn't look like it has the same kind of base as yours, which looks more like a Makita base, which is a saw I like<G> Where is AJ? Don't worry, we can fix that later!
What is it about the old Milwaukees you guys like? I'm a sidewinder from way back, and I also have a tilt-loc (only milwaukee saw I've ever messed with) for framing. I like it fine, except for that 45° cutout on the foot. A makita is my trim saw, but if there's something I'm missing, I know where Mrs 'Snort keeps her egg money<G> Don't worry, we can fix that later!

This sums it up for me.
timex .... takes a beating and keeps on cutting.

Riding around in my truck isn't what I worry about, that's a vacation for any of my tools. I push my stuff to the limit on the job, my help push 'em over the limit<G>
Stupid abuse is what get's me, like burning up a grinder and complaining about the smell it made while dying LOL Even better when it's the clutch on your truck:( Don't worry, we can fix that later!

That ebay saw is the next newer version than mine, mine has the 13 amp motor, the one on ebay is 15 amp. The base on mine is original.
I have only had one circular saw in my life, ran a boat load of others but I have only had the one, intend to keep it that way. If it quits on me than I'm retiring!
I have a Milwaukee cordless that goes with my 18v kit but I seldom use it, actually I never use it, I'm left handed and cant stand the saws with the blade on the left.
I think aj had the model no.'s correct.
BTW I very seldom have anybody using my tools so not much problem with helpers abusing my sh!t

Dooode, your saw is old, it obviously must sukk...I mean that pos only drws 13 amps, last saw you ever own, phhhh...I got a sweet phenolic resin cast Ryobi over here, brand new w/ a Vermont American blade...I know you want to talk to me<G>...hey, don't let your saw know I said any of that, okay? Don't worry, we can fix that later!
Man that saw will take on all the big boy saw's!
13amps is all I need, hell I'm not framing, I dont need all the extra power! Although I built a boat load of decks with that thing. I do have an older Milwaukee saw, its brushed aluminum, real old, still works but I dont think I have ran it in 15 years. Nothing runs like a Milwaukee!
....with a Vermont American blade...., are you sh!ting me, why that thing must realy a aaa , hell face it, its still a crappy saw! :)
Do you hate me for trying? HA HA HA! Don't worry, we can fix that later!
You talkin' worm drives or sidewinders?
I've got an 8" worm drive that's a 6378. The 7 1/4" worm drives are 6377.
Can't help if it's a sidewinder.
Don't take life too seriously. They will soon repeat it on cable TV.
Iirc, the old model was the 6365 and was 13 amp. Milwaukee still makes new 7 1/4" dropfoots; the 6375-20 (15 amp), the 6375-21 (comes with rip guide and case), and 6376-20 (electric brake). They an extra wide cast magnesium shoe and should work well with guides. Tool Crib/Amazon carries the electric brake model- $199.99. Seven Corners carries the other two. http://www.7corners.com/7c_store/showmfglist.cfm?DID=1&CATID=17&ObjectGroup_ID=57&mfg_id=62
Whats the opinion on the Bosch circ saws? I keep seeing the ads for their new cord or something. Is that a gimmick?
