Does anyone have info on patio pavers (on the ground) that will resist mold and fungus. I would like a ‘natural’ material rather than plastic, if possible. We have bricks on dirt which are covered with moss. They are slippery, hard to clean and worst of all I have a mold allergy so need to replace them with something else.
Is there a pre-treated patio block available or any other suggestions.
Thanks

Your post made me think of the roof shingles that have granules of copper or zinc to supposedly control moss. Might be patio pavers like that. If not, I wonder if you could cast your own. I think zinc may react with the concrete though--copper might too, so.... If you put copper sulfate on them, they would sure look pretty--don't know how it would react with the concrete, but I think copper sulfate will deter growth of moss and probably mildew.
With luck, someone who really knows will see this and respond shortly.
thanks, that's very interesting and I hadn't thought of that or knew of it. Hopefully I can get more info or more feedback to my querie.
I doubt that you will have much luck with that. There are copper element sprays for fruit trees to control disease in them but it must be watered down and seldom used to be safe. And moss is not a mold, so controlling molds might be a different process than moss. Keeping it clean with good drainage is the first and most impoortant step. partly because even if you had anti fungal pavers, the dust and dirt will stil settle onto them and between the spaces. That dust is the food on which the vegetation thrives. You want to create an inhospitable place for growth.a wash down with borax occasionally is likely your best bet. The boron has anti fungal properties.

Thanks - but what about if the pavers or even bluestone, were grouted so stuff wouldn't grow between and would be easier to keep clean of vegetation. Then wash occassionally with Borax solution??
That'd help too
