more shower construction questions

Well, I am still doing my bathroom reno and I have a couple more questions. Some background info, I am building a 6 x 4 shower w/ porcelin tiles and Kerdi and CBU underneath. One of the 6′ walls is on an exterior wall. The opposite 4′ wall is going to be mostly glass (about 4′ or so). We are installing a steam system also.
O.k. – here are my questions. 1. On the exterior wall, approx. 1/2 of the wall (3 – 4 ft.) is below grade w/ cement blocks) and the other half is just exterior studs. I was going to use Roxul insultation above grade b/c it’s waterproof, etc., and I was going to use some type of foam board insulation below grade (open to recommendations). From there I was going to put a vapor barrier over the entire wall, then do the CBU, Kerdi, etc. The other walls will be done with just the Roxul stuff. My question is – will there be any issues with moisture, etc. if I insulate the exterior wall like this b/c I have a steam system? Someone told me I might have issues where the foam board insulation is, so I should use spray insulation (do I need a vapour barrier). This doesn’t really make sense to me, but this is probably b/c I am just an accountant who loves to do renovations and learn about construction techniques!
My second question – do I need any additional framing for the shower enclosure. The glass part is going to be framed on the inside with granite, then the glass will go on top of that. I was going to use 2 x 6 framing, and just stack 2 – 2 x 6’s on top, or sideways for the header to support the weight of the tempered glass area. Is this sufficient? Should I use more / less? Any other framing warnings, etc. that I should know about?
As always, your help is very much appreciated. Look forward to hearing from you guys!

You would have problems if moist air can get around the foam board. Simply use spray foam around the perimeter to seal the foam board about as well as complete spray insulation.
No vapor barrier needed since the foam won't let air through to the cold side.
If you are having a glass door installed the framing the door hinges on needs to be solid, especially with frameless glass doors. A couple extra studs in that area are a good idea, arranged very tightly together (glued/screwed) so any long screws won't simply spread the studs apart.
I am build a small addition and will be using Kerdi for the first time. 6 x6 curbless shower.
Reinforce the wall where the door will hang. Search this Forum for insulation question.
