Multimaster blades price drop

Marson | Posted in Tools for Home Building on August 28, 2008 03:18am

This has maybe been on this board, but I missed it. I bought some multimaster blades the other day–they had three packs of E cut blades for a mere 75 bucks. Hey, that isn’t bad! Is this a sign of the future? The guy behind the counter told me the patent is running out.

Been paying about that price for 3 packs for quite awhile now. Lot cheaper than buying 1 at a time

I guess I'm rejoicing prematurely. It's the first time they've had a three pack available in these parts.

yeah, I'm curious about why the big price jump from 1 blade to 3 packsit's more than just the packaging

I took the advice of those in this forum to order the 250Qtop. I will pick it up this afternoon. I was VERY happy to find out about the website up listed. That should make things a bit easier buy. Many thanks!!"The nearest thing to eternal life we will ever see on this earth is a governmental program"  -Ronald Reagan

Bosch has a MM clone in europe right now and will be coming out with a cordless one that works as part of their 10.8 line. I think the machines are around $200 but the conversion from euro's to dollars doesn't always mean that will be the price in the US. There is more competition here and its a much bigger market so lots of times its less here even after the conversion. The blades are suppose to be MUCH less than the MM and will work on the older MM, not the newer version with the star mounts.

Yeah, the blades have been available in 3-packs for a while now, definitely the way to go, especially if you like the round segmented blades which are not available from the aftermarket/clone guys. Fein's official pricing announcement for the multi-packs is: 3 for the price of 2; and 10 for the price of 6. Ten-packs of segment blades may be in my future.

Too bad I stocked up last year when we were on the Mainland to avoid the cost of shipping out to here. Oh well, predicting the near future is not one of my strong points! On the plus side I use my SuperCut almost every day, how did I ever get along without this amazing tool?
