It seems to me that recently I saw a review in Fine Homebuilding on nail guns for nailing hardware (hangers, straps, etc.). But I can’t find it in my collection or through a search on the web. Does this review exsist or am I just wishing that it did? If it doesn’t, does any one have any input on these nail guns? I’ve been using one that works like a palm nailer, but self feeding, just wondering what else is out there and what people think of them.

I purchased the Bostitich framing system nailer which shoots both hanger and framing nails by changing the tip out. so far it has been great. The odd time you need to finish the nail off with a hammer, however, it is very fast. It will shoot 1-1/4 to 3-1/4 nails of a full 16D size. The only problem is getting the nails quickly as you need to order them to get them in Canada.
Cheers,
Brent
check our Bostitch N88RH-2MCN metal connector gun. It is two guns in one.

Good luck
MTCarpenter,
The review is in issue 154. The bottom line is that Bostitch was the most versatile gun of the bunch (and pretty darn reliable). Max makes a coil gun that holds a 100 nail mag and is still pretty light.
