   Really? I had written off a bobcat; I didn't know any were that narrow.That's encouraging. I need to do a lot of landscaping in my yard. . . but I definitely need a mini-ex for some trenching and to excavate for a patio behind my house.

   No he said Bobcat, no bobcat.Bobcat is a brandname for a company that makes many different kinds of equipment.The Bobcat 322 is a compact excavator.http://www.amsbobcat.com/322.phpbobcat is a generic name used for rubber tired loaders. But if you use that name in something "public" like a magazine article and are not clearly talking about a Bobcat brand machine you will get be getting a letter from Bobcat's attorneys reminding you of the difference.BTW an other class of machines are the compact loaders that you walk behind or stand on.The Toro Dingo is one brand, but there are others.    That's what I get for reading too fast.And no, I don't imagine I'd be able to get any conventional skidsteer loader into my yard. Those compacts look cool.
