Hi all
A real stupid question here.
I need a typical bathroom door lock, round polished brass, with the hole in the front to unlock it.
But….. Not a button on the inside to lock, but a turn knob.
I know I’ve seen them, but can’t seem to find them on the net.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Jeff

Is this - http://www.acehardwareoutlet.com/(xjsmj045hr53kn3cka4kkdqj)/ProductDetails.aspx?SKU=5235254 what you're looking for?
That's a cheap one.
A little nicer ($)

The Dolt will work fine.
Thank you

Those are very common... what brand are the other door knobs in your house? It should say on the bolt plate that is screwed to the edge of the door. BTW - that is actually called a privacy lock. A passage knob is like for a closet... It doesn't lock...
Matt
Their Schlage, but couldn't find the turn lock their site.
I ment privacy lock, not passage (brain fart).
Jeff
Might give these guys a whirl. I've bought from them and sister companies on several things. Pleased so far.
You can drill down to what you're looking pretty easy, particularly if you know brand.

Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end.

I couldn't tell from the site if they unlock with a simple nail or note.
Jeff
As far as I know, if it's got a bitty hole, a nail will do it.
All I've seen come with the "key" but it's nothing more than a piece of stiff wire.
Can you link the one you found?
I have push and turn knob Weisers and wanted to stay with that type as opposed to center button. Looooong call to Weiser got me what I wanted but at a price. Later I found this site, I've talked to them a they were helpful, might give 'em a ring tommorrow.

Schlage is a push, not turn, button.
Jeff
Just out of curiosity, why not a button to lock?
Matt
Actually, it's a very stupid reason.
One of my dogs keeps locking this one particular door and my wife has trouble using the nail to open it.
He can't lock the turn style, so that solves the problem.
I'll bet you never had a reason like that come up before.

Geez, let the poor dog have some privacy!
NoCanDo Don
cover the existing knob with one of the baby proof knob covers?
Matt
That's a great idea, I didn't even think of that.
Thanks
Jeff
Kwikset makes a privacy with turn button

Any idea what the Part# is?
Jeff
the plate on my latch is stamped 6wal inside the handle is stamped 12133. thats about all i know. Mine cames from Blowes(i mean Lowes) Funny thing though the screws are on the "key" side, i guess for emergency. I prefer Schlage myself , all my exterior locks are schlage. I think i cheaped out when it came to the interior, don't remember anymore.
Thank you
I'll pass a Home depot tomarrow.
