I am making an attempt to remove fairly large amount of old paint from rough textured brick. The brick is not completely painted; just a large amount of paint from years of paint jobs. I have used paint remover Gel, which only turns the paint into a chalk like substance. Sometimes, Muriatic acid will get most of the chalk like substance off, but it still does not get it all, especially on large areas. Would a small sand blaster do this job? Can you recommend a good sand blaster for under $80? Thanks in advance.

Harbor Freight has a couple of cheap ones. The one I use has a pickup tube that goes right into the bag of abrasive - there is no hopper. Be sure to wear gloves, googles and a respirator or filtered mask. Lay Visqueen or a dropcloth down to catch the media so you can re-use it. Be careful and good luck
I bought one about 20 years ago, it might still be in my mom's garage. It was for some graffitti removal at Venice beach. Majorly messy, but the source of sand was right across the boardwalk. I doubt that I've used it more than once or twice since.
They come with either ceramic or steel nozzles. Ceramic wear a lot longer, but break easily if dropped. Steel is cheaper.

Hot lye solution will remove paint. If you choose to try that, beware of the danger.
