I am wanting to build some large shoji screens
that need to withstand frequent handling.
I have seen references to a fiberglas material
that looks similar to shoji paper.
Does anyone know of sources for this material?
Thanks.

I've gotten fiberglass shoji material at Tap Plastic. I think they have outlets all over the place.
*You might want to try Misugi Designs, Berkeley, CA. I'm Not sure if they carry the product you're looking for, but they do carry traditional paper for Shoji. They'll probably be able to help. http://www.misugidesign.com. Good Luck.cms
*You could also try http://www.cherrytreedesign.comGood Luck.
*I have used synthetic rice paper in Shojis. I'm not sure if it was fiberglass material or not, but it holds up better than real rice paper. I believe the source was LA Shoji in Los Angeles. If I can pin down an address, I'll post it.
*Okay, Okay...I'll bite. What in the hell is a Shojis?
*Shojis are Japanese sliding screens, used in traditional Japanese architecture to seperate living areas. They are made from a wood frame and rice paper "glazing".
